Twitter CEO and founder of Tesla Inc, Elon Musk has said the microblogging site will soon allow media publishers to charge users per article basis.
Musk said the new feature will be available next month.
In a tweet on Saturday, Tweeter’s CEO said the new service will allow readers who do not sign up for a monthly membership to pay a higher per-article price for reading an occasional article.
He tweets, “Rolling out next month, this platform will allow media publishers to charge users on a per-article basis with one click.”
“This enables users who would not sign up for a monthly subscription to pay a higher per-article price when they want to read an occasional article.
“Should be a major win-win for both media organs & the public,” the Twitter chief executive officer tweeted.
In October 2022, Musk took over Twitter after completing a $44 billion deal.
For its blue tick mark, the microblogging platform started charging users $8 per month last year.
Earlier in the month, Musk had said users of the platform will be able to monetize their content, including long-form text and hours-long video.
He also said on Friday that the microblogging platform will take a 10 percent cut on content subscriptions after the first year.
Rolling out next month, this platform will allow media publishers to charge users on a per article basis with one click.
