The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) charged its officers across the country to stop asking for customs papers from vehicle owners.
The Force also said the issuance of tinted glass permits remains suspended.
This directive was made known on Twitter by the Force’s Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi on Sunday.
Adejobi said police officers are only required to stop and search vehicles as well as their occupants.
According to his tweet, “No policeman should demand your customs papers except they are on joint operation, but not just on mere routine checks,” the FPRO tweeted.
