APC Expels Senator-elect Over Anti-party Activities

Taraba State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled David Jimkuta, the Senator-elect from the party over gross anti-party activities.

This was made known in a statement titled “Expulsion of Hon. Jimkuta S.U David from the All Progressives Congress APC for gross anti-party activities” on Friday.

The statement signed by Sirajo Sallau, the party chairman, stated that the expulsion followed due to deliberation of the report from the disciplinary committee set up to investigate the allegations levied against Jimkuta, the Senator-elect.

Part of the statement reads “The Takum local government executive committee of our party, after due deliberation of the report of the disciplinary committee set up to investigate allegations of gross anti-party activities against Hon. Jimkuta S.U David as provided under article 21(B) (i) -(vI) of the All Progressives Congress, as recommended by the disciplinary committee.

The anti-party activities that constituted the bases of this action include (I) “Sponsorship and openly campaigning for a rival political party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba state and its governorship candidate.

(ll) Open express and tacit denunciation of the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate.

(lll) Open canvassing of votes for the People’s Democratic Party and its governorship candidate.”
