The National Labour Congress on Wednesday moved its protest to the National Assembly in Abuja amidst the ASUU strike.
The union did a similar demonstration held in all states of the federation on Tuesday except in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
It was gathered that workers from different states Tuesday 26, began the protest calling on the federal government to agree to the demands of ASUU for the union to reopen Nigerian universities.
The protest begins again in Abuja today, July 27 at 9:30 am after members of the NLC leadership and leaders from the different affiliated unions gathered on the Unity Fountain in the nation’s capital.
Before the Labour Union arrived at the Legislative Houses, security had been reinforced.

The protesters plan to match to the National Assembly where the NLC president will deliver a message from the labour unions to the lawmakers.
Those who led the protest in Abuja on Wednesday included the NLC President, Ayuba Wabba; AAC presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, ASUU President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, and the immediate past President of ASUU, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, among others.
