Buhari sack NPA boss, set up new Panel of Inquiry

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the recommendation made by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to set up an Administrative Panel of Inquiry to investigate the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Thursday, May 6.

According to the statement, it was revealed that the President set up a Panel of Inquiry to investigate the NPA while asking the Managing Director of the NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman, to set aside.

Also, the President approved Mr. Mohammed Koko to act in the position of the sacked Director accordingly.

The President further revealed that the Panel will be headed by the Director of Maritime Service of the Ministry while also approve the Deputy Director, Legal of the same ministry as the Secretary.

Other members of the panel will be appointed by the Minister
