After the temporary suspension of sales of MTN products through the banking channel on April 2, 2021, the telecommunications giant has restored its services on Sunday, April 4, with customers able to access all services.
The telecommunications giant explains the situation that trailed the suspension and restoration of the digital banking service.
According to MTN Nigeria, these were resolve in a series of meetings following the intervention of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Nigeria Communication Commission, and the Central Bank of Nigeria to align on a longer-term pricing structure.
MTN Nigeria promises to provide a further market update once these discussions have been concluded, stating that, they undertook an international standard and best practice as the scale is built along distribution channels.
MTN Nigeria also explained it’s confident to work with partners in the banking sector to ensure a possible quick solution that will benefit the entire industry.
MTN Nigeria also explained that it would revert to its previous cost of sales structures with banking partners until a new long term agreement can be reached on a sustainable pricing structure.
