The Nigerian film studio, Filmone Entertainment, has announced to release the much-anticipated film ‘Aki and Pawpaw’ modification to the cinema on December 17th.
The news of the release was shared by the corporation on its Instagram page on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Goldennationblog.com gathered from the details of the remake that Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme will repeat their roles as the amusing brothers, Aki and Pawpaw in the movie.
Also, the director of the remake, Biodun Stephen, has been named and the released date has been set for December 17.
According to the post that was shared on Instagram by Filmoneng while announcing the release, it was stated that “19-year-ago, they came into our lives; our resident Nollywood troublemakers remain the gift that never stopped giving! From Alaba to the big screens, your favorite duo redefines comedy in this holiday blockbuster Aki and PawPaw The Movie in cinemas from December 17th! Save the date. A Play Network Studios and Film One Entertainment Production. Director: Biodun Stephen.”
Toyin Abraham, Amaechi Muonagor, Anita Asuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Uti Nwachukwu, Stan Nze, MC Lively, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim, Hanks Anuku, and Chioma Okafor are among the other cast members.
In May, the modification of the film was initially disclosed by Ikedieze and Iheme when they discussed dropping the new project on Instagram.
It was gathered that fans were fascinated as they await the return of the popular duet to their screens again after a decade and a half.
