The incident happened around 8 p.m on Monday, March 15, 2021, Along Oria-Abraka road in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Rev. Fr. Harrison was kidnapped from his Highlander jeep while trying to drive out from a bad spot along the Oria-Abraka road on his way returning to Warri.
According to a report that was seen by goldennationblog.com, the kidnappers were said to be shooting sporadically into the air to scare passersby away before kidnapping the priest, leaving his car at the scene of the incident.
It was gathered that the Policemen from the Abraka Division who came for the rescue mission were there strategizing the situation of the rescue but a member of the local vigilante group said that they heard gunshots, but there was no way they could combat with their ‘shoot and run’ guns.
The vigilante said, “It looked like they came to fight a war.”
“We have so far picked about 15 shells which are bullets from their AK-47 gun.”
However, the acting spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, DSP Edafe Bright, could not be reached at the time of filing this report.
