Former assistant editor of The Sun Newspaper, Kenny Ashaka is dead.
This was disclosed by a friend to the family, Asaju Tunde in a statement seen by goldennationblog.com
Ashaka reportedly passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness.
The journalist died a few days after he lost his wife, Dorothy.
He joined The Sun in 2003. He headed the North West Bureau until 2008.
The deceased was transferred to Abuja and later to Jos, Plateau State capital, as North Central Bureau Chief.
Ashaka was promoted to Assistant Editor and worked at the Lagos head office.
He is survived by three children, Onome, Onoriode, and Arizona, and three grandchildren.
“Rest well my friend and brother. You fought an enviable fight. May God comforts your family”, a friend, Asaju Tunde posted on Facebook.
