Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has reacted to a statement by the Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, advising Nigerians to defend themselves against bandits.
He disclosed this in a statement on his official Twitter page. While speaking on insecurity and bandits’ attacks in some parts of Nigeria, he advised Nigerians not to be cowards, adding that bandits sometimes possessed few rounds of ammunition.
The retired General told to citizens to stay alert at all times and defend themselves.
Senator Sani who responded to the Minister’s statement told Magashi to provide Nigerians with enabling tools in order not to be cowards when bandits attack.
He wrote: “If the Defence Minister is prescribing self-defense, his Ministry should provide Nigerians with the ‘enabling tools’ or formally permit them to privately source for it so that there shall be ‘cowards’ no more in this beleaguered and bewildering land.”
