Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Davido has revealed how his billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, onetime work at a fast-food restaurant before becoming successful.
According to him, his father went through life hurdles to be where he is today. Adding that his father didn’t just become successful all of a sudden.
Davido made this revelation in Washington when asked about his biggest inspiration during a video series of live performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk, hosted by NPR music.
He said, his father studied in the States while enunciating how he was once a manager at the Burger King, a fast-food restaurant operating in the United States.
However, Davido also revealed how he attended Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), a predominantly black college.
In his words, he said, “The inspiration for me has been my father, a Nigerian-American like me. He studied in the States. I studied there myself. I went to HBCU (Historically Black College and University), a predominantly black college.
“My dad used to work at Burger King. He was a manager at Burger King.
“I know a lot of people won’t believe this but he didn’t just become wealthy all of a sudden. He too went through certain life hurdles to be where he is today”
Recall goldennationblog.com reports how Davido recently visited his old apartment in the United States where he recollects old memories of how he and his two cousins, Sina, and B Red lived without money while growing up.
In the reports, he said, at that time, what he had was just his dream and how to make it big.
