Columbus Irisoanga, a well-known actor famous for his role in the Nollywood movie Isakaba, has passed away. His colleague, Hilda Dokubo, shared the sad news on Instagram, expressing shock and sadness over his death.
Dokubo described Irisoanga as a kind and talented person, calling his passing a big loss to actors from Rivers State. She also wondered why so many good people seemed to be leaving this world.
Irisoanga, who came from Okrika in Rivers State, played the powerful chief priest Igbudu in Isakaba, a popular Nollywood movie from 2001. But he wasn’t just an actor—he was also a respected teacher. He taught drama at the University of Port Harcourt, where he had studied and earned several degrees, including a PhD.
He was recognized for his talent in acting and teaching, earning several awards throughout his career.
The details about when and how he passed away are not yet known. His death comes shortly after the passing of another Nollywood actress, Pat Ugwu.
