Reverend Osakuni Urges Nigerian Youths to Embrace Hard Work and Godliness

By Ifeanyi Omenogor

Youths across Nigeria have been encouraged to embrace hard work, discipline, and godliness while avoiding social vices that could jeopardise their future.

This call was made by Reverend Pavilion Osakuni, the founder of Hopewell International Gospel Centre, during her 60th birthday celebration held in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking at the well-attended event, Reverend Osakuni described youths as the foundation and strength of every nation, stressing that their choices and attitudes today will determine the future of the country. She urged them to fear God, work diligently, and stay away from immoral and destructive lifestyles that can derail their destinies.

According to her, “Youths are the bedrock of every nation. When young people live in the fear of God and work hard, they not only secure their own future but also contribute positively to national development.”

She further appealed to parents to train their children in the fear of God, noting that a properly raised child brings blessings to both the family and society at large.

Reverend Osakuni also commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State for his numerous youth empowerment programmes, describing him as a leader with a genuine passion for the growth and progress of young people in the state.

While expressing gratitude to God for the gift of life, sound health, and progress, the cleric said her 60th birthday celebration was a testimony of God’s faithfulness. She emphasised that “serving God pays the most,” encouraging Christians to remain patient and steadfast in their faith.

“Delay is not denial,” she said. “Whatever a man sows, he will surely reap. Ministers of God must also be patient because Christianity is all about patience and faith in God’s timing.”

The event, which was filled with songs, prayers, and tributes, drew several notable religious leaders and dignitaries. Among those in attendance were Bishop Osamor, Bishop Nwaeke, Reverend John Mbachu, Pastor Greg Okoh, Pastor David Nwabunor, Pastor Sam Dominic, Apostle Tony Agafie, Pastor Clems Osadebe, and Honourable Emmanuel Ogeah, among others.

In their remarks, the guests described Reverend Pavilion Osakuni as a virtuous woman, a disciplined leader, and a true servant of God with a heart of compassion. They praised her for her unwavering integrity, selfless service, and dedication to spreading the gospel and transforming lives.

The celebration ended with prayers, thanksgiving, and words of appreciation from Reverend Osakuni, who prayed for God’s continuous protection and blessings upon everyone who came to rejoice with her.
