The Nigerian Police have arrested a 25-year-old man named Samson Oghenebreme for carrying human organs, which were suspected to be meant for a money ritual.
Samson was caught by the police in Odomola, a community in Epe, Lagos State, after people in the area noticed his strange movements and quickly reported him to the police. Officers from the Odo-Noforija Police Division acted fast and arrested him.
According to Lagos Police spokesperson, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, early investigations showed that Samson was allegedly taking the human organs all the way from Edo State to deliver them to a native doctor. It is believed he wanted to use the organs for a ritual to get money.
The organs have been taken to the General Hospital in Epe, where they are being kept safely for doctors to study and confirm what they are.
Since the crime started in Edo State, the case has now been moved to the Edo State Police Command, where more investigation and legal action will continue.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, praised the police officers and the people of Odomola for their quick response and teamwork.
“This arrest shows how important it is for people to tell the police when they see something suspicious. We thank the community and encourage everyone to always report strange behavior,” he said.
The police also promised that they will continue to work hard to protect the lives and property of all residents. They asked everyone to stay alert and always speak up when they see anything unusual.
