Lagos, Nigeria – February 28, 2025
Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has secured the release of his elder brother, Jude Okoye, from prison by offering one of his valuable properties in Ikoyi as bail surety.
Jude, who was once the manager of the famous Nigerian music duo P-Square, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on February 26, 2025. He is facing allegations of money laundering involving a total of ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the court set his bail hearing for February 28, 2025.
During the bail hearing today, Paul Okoye told the court he was ready to put up one of his expensive properties in Ikoyi, Lagos, to secure Jude’s release.
He said: “My Lord, I have here with me documents of one of my properties situated in Ikoyi valued at several billions of naira, and I’m willing to drop it with the court, but please release my brother to me on bail today.”
Family Drama Unfolds
After the court session, Paul Okoye made a shocking statement, blaming his twin brother, Peter Okoye, for Jude’s legal troubles.
“It’s Peter that is doing this. He’s putting him in prison, and I’m here to bring him out.”
The EFCC investigation reportedly began after Peter Okoye petitioned the agency about a ” secret company” he discovered. This company, Northside Music Ltd, allegedly had Jude Okoye and his wife, Ifeoma, as founders and directors. Peter raised concerns about missing P-Square royalties, which led to Jude’s arrest.
Following Jude’s arrest, Paul Okoye posted a cryptic message on Instagram, appearing to address his twin brother.
“Exactly what he wants. This too, shall pass. Stay strong, brother @judeengees.”
