Nigerian music star Omah Lay has shared exciting news about an upcoming collaboration with Afrobeats giant, Davido. Speaking on The Baller Alert Show with hosts Ferrari Simmons and Byron Turner, the 27-year-old artist couldn’t hide his excitement about their new single.
Omah Lay, who goes by his real name Stanley Omah Didi, admitted that he once thought Davido didn’t like him. But after working together, he discovered that Davido is an “amazing person” and was surprised by how well they connected.
“We already have a song coming out, and I’m really excited about it. I didn’t expect much at first, but working with Davido was great. He’s such a warm and easygoing person,” Omah Lay said during the interview.
The singer also offered a glimpse into the relationships between Nigerian artists, clearing up the assumption that everyone is close friends. He explained that while there’s mutual respect and love, competition keeps the industry thriving.
“There’s a lot of competition, and that’s what keeps us moving. It’s not about fighting, but more about making better music and wanting to be the best. It’s healthy competition,” Omah Lay shared.
Omah Lay, who began his career as a producer at just 15, burst onto the scene in 2020 with hit singles like ‘You’ and ‘Bad Influence.’ Since then, he has continued to rise in the Nigerian music industry with his distinctive sound, gaining a loyal fanbase along the way.
Fans are now eagerly waiting for the highly anticipated collaboration between Omah Lay and Davido, which promises to be a major hit.
