The Delta State Government says Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is making big improvements across the state, from roads to schools and hospitals. The government also said the governor is too busy working to be bothered by people who criticize him.
Speaking in Asaba, Mr Charles Aniagwu, the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information said the governor is showing real results, not just talking. Last week, he and his team visited many projects in the three main parts of Delta State to check the progress.
Better Roads for Faster Travel
One of the biggest achievements is the completion of the Ubu Bridges along the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway. These bridges have made travel between Warri (a major business city) and Asaba (the state capital) much faster and smoother.
The governor also visited the Isoko Ring Road, which is being worked on to make movement easier for people living in that area.
Improving Education
Governor Oborevwori is also making sure schools in Delta State are getting better. At Southern Delta University in Ozoro, a new College of Health Sciences is almost ready. This will allow students to study medicine and other health-related courses.
At Omadino Technical College in Warri South, the governor promised that the school would be ready for students by September 2025. He believes that educating young people will help prevent crime and give them a better future.
Better Hospitals for Delta State
The governor is also improving healthcare. In Warri, he promised to provide CT scan machines at the Central Hospital, Asaba Specialist Hospital, and Delta State University Teaching Hospital in Oghara. These machines help doctors check inside the body to find out what is wrong with a patient.
Building Bridges and Solving Conflicts
Apart from roads and schools, the governor also visited the Orere Bridge, which is being built. He asked the contractors to finish the project quickly.
He also helped settle a land dispute between the Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities, who had been fighting over land for a long time. The communities agreed to live in peace, and the state government promised to build the Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh Road to help them connect better.
Focus on Development, Not Politics
Aniagwu said some people are criticizing the governor, but Governor Oborevwori prefers to answer with projects, not arguments. He warned that any contractor who delays projects will not get new jobs from the government.
The governor is determined to continue working hard, and more projects will be approved soon to improve the lives of people in Delta State.
