Oborevwori Delivers Again! Hon. Eyanu Celebrates Road Fix for His People

Ovu, Delta State – The Councillor representing DSIEC Ward 18, Ovu, and Chief Whip of the 8th Legislative Arm of the Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Kingsley Oghenemarho Eyanu, has publicly expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Delta State Government for approving the rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of the Ekpan/Ovorie/Ovu-Inland/Okparha-Inland/Isiokolo/Kokori Road.

Hon. Eyanu made the statement during a brief interaction with youths from his ward, describing the road approval as a timely and much-needed intervention that demonstrates Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to equitable infrastructure development across the state.

According to the councillor, the road—a vital link between multiple communities in the Ethiope East Local Government Area—has long been in a state of disrepair, creating serious challenges for residents, business owners, and motorists. He emphasized that the road’s poor condition had made movement difficult, discouraged trade, and reduced access to essential services for local communities.

“This project is a significant relief to our people. For many years, we have yearned for the rehabilitation of these critical roads, and I am sincerely grateful to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for answering that call. The good people of DSIEC Ward 18 and the entire Ovu community are indeed grateful,” Hon. Eyanu stated.

He also commended the state government for recognizing the strategic importance of Ward 18 and other affected communities, noting that this approval is a sign that the voices of grassroots residents are being heard and acted upon.

Hon. Eyanu further pledged the unwavering support of both his ward and the legislative arm of the local council for the Oborevwori-led administration, particularly in its implementation of the MORE Agenda—an acronym standing for Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.

The road rehabilitation project, once completed, is expected to:

  • Ease transportation and reduce travel time
  • Boost local trade and business activity
  • Enhance safety and accessibility
  • Improve the general living conditions in the affected areas

Residents and community leaders have already begun expressing optimism that the project will mark a new chapter of development for Ethiope East, especially in long-neglected communities like Ovu and Kokori.

The Delta State Government’s decision continues to receive commendation as more leaders join in applauding Governor Oborevwori for prioritizing infrastructure that directly impacts the lives of everyday citizens.
