A former chairman of Oshimili North Local Government, Hon. Louis Ndukwe, has said that Senator Ned Nwoko will not be able to get the APC ticket to contest for the Senate in 2027.
Ndukwe explained that even though Nwoko left the PDP to join the APC with a lot of celebration, it does not mean he will automatically get the party’s support. He said there are other politicians who have been in the APC for a long time and have worked hard for the party, making it difficult for Nwoko to take the Senate ticket.
Speaking at his home in Oshimili North, Ndukwe said Nwoko’s reason for leaving the PDP—his promise that Anioma State will be created by March 2025—is not true. He believes this is just a trick to fool people who do not understand politics.
He also questioned why President Bola Tinubu, the leader of APC, did not personally welcome Nwoko into the party. He believes this shows that Nwoko’s defection is not as important as it seemed.
“This is just a plan to make people think Nwoko has done something great when, in reality, he has not achieved much for Delta North in the past two years,” Ndukwe said.
He also predicted that when Nwoko realizes he won’t get the APC ticket, he will try other last-minute political moves. Ndukwe added that the people of Anioma are smart enough to see through Nwoko’s promise of Anioma State, which he believes will never happen.
