Apple’s upcoming smartwatch is experiencing complication issues due to the new design which is rumored to involve flat sides and a bigger screen.
The new Apple Watch complications could lead to the product being released later than expected as reported by Nikkie Asia and Bloomberg.
According to a Nikkei Asia report, a source disclosed that small-scale production for the Apple Watch had begun but revealed that it encountered “critical challenges in reaching satisfactory production performance. Apple and its suppliers work to solve the manufacturing issues ahead of eventual mass production, Nikkie Asia added.
Bloomberg also reported similar details that production has now been ” temporarily halted”.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in his Power On newsletter on Sunday that the new Apple Watch is expected to be called the Apple Watch Series 7. It comes with a big screen size of about 41mm and 45 mm (a 1mm bump from the currently available options), a faster processor, and “a flatter display and edges.”
Gurman also reported that the Series 7 won’t bring any big health upgrades “until at least next year, ” meanwhile, Nikkie Asia added that the new Watch will add new features “such as blood pressure measurement.”
Last year September at an event, Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 6, and the company is expected to host another September product event this year. But if Apple does not host a September event this year, it might be because of the production challenges the company encountered because there is a possibility that the Apple Watch might not make an appearance.
However, Apple has not replied to a request to comment.
