Ndokwa East, West youth presidents campaign against cultism

The youth presidents of Ndokwa West and East Local Government Areas, Comrades Osondu Ezeoba and Afam Oseji with their executives over the weekend flagged off a three-day campaign against cultism in Kwale.

The campaign which started from Friday, September 18 to Sunday September 20, 2020 was attended by Ndokwa youths.

Presenting a speech, the guest speaker Chief Opone, who is the President of Ndokwa Neku Union gave history and dangers of cultism in Nigeria noting that a lot of youth joined cult without knowing the implications.

The guest speaker revealed that nothing meaningful could come out of cultism as all its principles were against the law and that members were initiated based on their ability to murder, rob or prostitute in the case of female members.

Chief Opone said that cultist hardly graduate from schools or worse get killed before graduation making life frustrating to their parents who bear the pains of losing loved ones.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Ndokwa East Youth President, Comrade Afam Oseji said that cultism was anti-development, stressing that instead of fighting for a common good of the community it divided the youth along cult lines, stating some group would not want to work with the others.

Another speaker, Comrade Osondu Ezeoba, Ndokwa West Youth Chairman, advised youth to renounce membership of any cult they belong for their interest and the society at large.

He revealed that most of the members were tired of being in cult saying that they should use this avenue to renounce their membership

Highlights of the occasion was sharing of T Shirts, caps and flyers with an inscription of “say no to cultism” as they campaigned along all the streets of Kwale Ogume, Otagbuno, Ebendo, Afor and Iselegu communities.
