The Obi of Abavo kingdom in Ika North Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Uche Irenuma, has been conferred with an award as a peace initiator.
The President-General of Abavo Kingdom, Comrade Jonathan Agbejiawe, disclosed this during an award-giving ceremony to honour some illustrious sons and daughters as well as friends who have contributed their best in the development of the community.
He commended the efforts of the obi, for uniting warring parties in the tussle for leadership adding that the gesture had brought peace and rapid development to the kingdom.
Agbejiawe noted that the award ceremony was designed because of the peace initiative of the monarch. He reiterated that the kingdom was now more united, and exuded more strength, judging from the large crowd that came out to honour the award ceremony.
The president also said that a lot of Abavo sons and daughters had performed credibly toward the development of the kingdom stressing that few of them had been chosen for this year’s award and that others would-be awarded later.
He, therefore, urged sons and daughters of the kingdom to continue to do their best in their various life endeavors.
Meanwhile, the Obi of Abavo kingdom received the award of Peace Initiator amidst cheers and great ovations.
