How a Woman Tricked a Church with a False Testimony

The Fake Miracle Scandal

Imagine you have a favourite teacher who tells you that one day, you will win a big prize. Then, a few months later, someone comes to your school and says, “Guess what? I won that prize exactly as the teacher said!” Everyone gets excited, but later, it turns out that the person was lying and never won anything. That’s similar to what happened in this story.

What Happened?

Prophet Ebuka Obi, a popular religious leader in Lagos, told a woman named Loveth Aluu that God had remembered her, and soon, she would receive great blessings. Sometime later, Loveth returned, saying that the prophecy had come true—her business had suddenly become very successful, and she bought a mansion worth N500 million in Lagos.

During a church service, she shared a video of the house, and everyone celebrated, believing it was proof that miracles happen. The prophet encouraged others to believe in the same kind of blessing.

The Truth Comes Out

However, a few weeks later, people saw Loveth selling soft drinks and bottled water in a small shop in Enugu. A construction company, Robo Consult, also came forward and said the mansion Loveth claimed to own was their property, and she never bought it.

Loveth later admitted she had lied. She had only visited the mansion pretending she wanted to buy it. While inside, she secretly made a video and later claimed it was hers. The company then reported her to the police.

What Did Prophet Obi Say?

When people started saying the prophet was performing fake miracles, he defended himself. He said he did not know Loveth personally and that people give testimonies at his church every day. He also explained that prophets do not always see or hear from God at all times.

The church has now asked the police to investigate who sent Loveth and why she lied.

What Can We Learn from This?

  • Not everything we see or hear is true. It’s always good to check the facts.
  • People sometimes lie for attention or money.
  • Even religious leaders can be fooled.
  • It’s important to question things before believing them completely.

This story shows why we should always be careful before believing miracles or quick success stories.
