Nigerian fast-rising singer and songwriter, Efecha Collins Gold, better known by his stage name, Gold Collins, has dissed out his Extended Playlist (EP) titled ‘Kelebe Boyfriend’ featuring sensational music star, Cameo CY.
The Afropop music star released five tracklists on Sunday, November 28, 2021, as a follow-up to his first single “Me And You”.
During an interview, the singer said: “Kelebe is a slang in ‘Pidgin’ used to portray a ‘fine girl’. The word Kelebe Boyfriend simply means ‘Fine Girl Boyfriend’.
The word ‘Kelebe Boyfriend’ is also the combination of two tracks title in the EP.”
The tracks in the EP have a chilled groovy Afropop rhythm with a storyline portraying a guy (Boyfriend), who expressed his feelings towards a pretty lady known as Kelebe, and her reactions expressing fake love while in a relationship.
The tracks depict a guy’s conspiracy theory in a romance, the love he got, the predicament he meets face to face when his spouse doesn’t pick his calls, and also her excessive temperaments towards his feelings.
In the EP, Boyfriend appears to be the first track. This track gives an insight into the EP as it explained how a gentleman confronts a gal that he likes and make an effort assuring her that he wants to be his boyfriend. While “Kelebe” is the fourth track where he featured Cameo CY, this track starts with a cameo voice of CY explaining to Kelebe how he feels about her.
The 5 tracks include ‘Boyfriend’, ‘You Nor Dey Pick Call’, ‘Me And You’, ‘Kelebe’, ‘This Place’. The track 1, 2, 4, produced by ID Clef, track 3, produced by ProfBeat, while track 5, is produced by Softouch.
Gold Collins, a native of Urhobo was born on 28 January 1988, in Ughelli, Delta State, a state in South-South Nigeria, to Mr. Felix Oghenebrohien Gold and Mrs. Patience Ughegheruvwe Gold.
He is the fourth child and first son among twelve children. He had his primary school education at Ogele Primary School and his secondary education at Afiesere Secondary School, both in Ughelli before he proceed to the prestigious Delta State Polytechnics, Ogwashi-Uku (DSPG), Delta State, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication.
Aside from being a musician, he is also a Journalist, who currently owned Goldennationblog.com, a media website with the latest Nigerian and foreign news, politics, sports, business, entertainment, and opinions updates.
He like most other musicians started singing at a teenage age while about to complete college. The singer has never been in the choir, he never played any instrument yet he organizes and writes lyrics by honing to distinct instruments.
In April 2020, he released his first EP titled “The Storyline” before his first single “Me And You” in January 2021, a song he dropped on his birthday.
The singer appears not to have restrictions between style and genre in creating music. He is an imaginative and contemporary songwriter whose imaginative expression is emotional. His creative components include the combination of Afrobeat, Afro-Pop, Afrofusion, Hip-hop, and Reggae which offered him a vast attraction within distinct demography while creating music.
In his teen, he became a defunct member of B-Series, a music group he formed with his childhood friend, Cameo CY until they formally go solo.
Gold is a self-determined young man growing and learning in an ever-changing world of ordinary music. He is the founder of Nothing Spoil Music, a record label he established.
