Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has said that everybody smokes weed but hypocrisy is the main reason why marijuana has not been legalized in Nigeria.
He made this known when asked about legalizing weed in Nigeria during an interview with Home Grown Radio in Los Angeles.
According to him, he said “It’s not a zero-tolerance. It’s like everybody does it, but no one wants to be the one that is seen talking about it.
He also said there have been some misconceptions surrounding marijuana which according to him, he said “It’s just kind of hypocritical out there. People try to make it seem like if you smoke weed, you’ll just go mad in Nigeria.”
He also explained that everybody smokes it while describing it as a topic no one wants to talk about.
According to the 30-years-old singer, he said “No one wants to talk about it; everybody is cool. Nobody wants to make it a thing to advocate for the legalization of weed.”
Also, when asked if people get arrested for possession of marijuana in Nigeria, the ‘Twice As Tall’ singer said it depends on who you are and if you can please the person that is stopping you at that time.
After his explanation, Burna Boy further said that he likes visiting Los Angeles because weed is legal in the state and that the best ones are found there.
