Emu/Abbi Boundary Dispute: Ndokwa West LG Sets Up Six-member Verification Committee

A six-man committee has been set up to investigate the remote and immediate causes of the boundary dispute between Emu and Abbi Communities Ndokwa West.

This was revealed by the Chairman Ndokwa West Local Government Chief Obi Nzete represented by the Secretary to the Ndokwa West Local Government, Mr. Austin Okom, after the enlarged meeting with the two communities to resolve the boundary dispute between the two communities.

The peace meeting which was held at the Ndokwa West Local Government Council was attended by Chiefs and elders of the two communities, including security Agencies, comprising the Army, police, and DSS, among others.

He said the communities had been told to hold their peace while the committee carried out their duties.

Chief. Obi Nzete said the mandate of the committee, comprising three persons each from both communities, is to Fastrack the peace process arising from the boundary dispute between both communities.

The Chairman said the committee will be meeting with the Local Government council from time to time to chart the way forward.

He said the two communities had been advised to maintain peace till the matter is resolved.
