A $150m lawsuit has been filed against the driver who was accused of allegedly killing Nicki Minaj’s father.
The $150m lawsuit was filed by Carol Maraj, the mother of Nicki Minaj, against the man accused of killing Minaj’s father in a hit-and-run crash last month.
It was gathered that the driver, Charles Polevich, 70, was accused of striking Robert Maraj, 64, on Long Island on February 12 and drive off without calling 911.
The driver, Polevich was arrested on February 17 on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence.
The driver, pleaded not guilty and was freed on bail and ordered not to leave New York State.
In a report that was seen by goldennationblog.com,
Carol Maraj’s filed the lawsuit at Nassau County State Supreme Court earlier this month and Polevich was accused of being negligent, reckless, and careless when he hit Maraj with his car and allegedly left him at the scene.
According to Benjamin Crump, an attorney for civil rights cases and families of victims of police brutality representing Carol Maraj said on Instagram, Polevich was not only irresponsible and negligent but more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help.
Speaking about the incident, Carol Maraj, the victim’s estranged wife explained that, “she was very, very, very happy about the arrest of Polevich” and she also said, all of Maraj’s children are pleased that the alleged culprit was caught.
However, Nicki Minaj has not made any public statement on the death of her father.
Marc Gann the attorney for Polevich in Mineola also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
