Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has called for the arrest of self-proclaimed “Prophet” Ebuka Obi, accusing him of deceiving people with fake prophecies and false miracles while collecting money from church members.
This comes after a 32-year-old woman, Loveth Helen Alo, was taken to court for falsely claiming she owned a five-bedroom house in Enugu.
What Happened?
Alo was seen in a video at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, where she testified that God had blessed her with a house worth ₦200 million at WTC Estate, Enugu. The video showed images of the house, making people believe she owned it.
But the Enugu State Police Command later said her claim was false. She was arrested on February 1, 2025, after someone reported her to the police. During questioning, Alo admitted she lied and said she acted alone.
Why is Sowore Angry?
After Alo was taken to court, Sowore spoke out, saying the real person who should be arrested was Prophet Ebuka Obi, not Alo. He accused Obi of:
- Giving false prophecies
- Performing fake miracles
- Taking money from church members by deceiving them
Sowore believes the authorities are chasing the wrong person by arresting Alo instead of Obi. He also said he was ready to help Alo and asked people to send him her contact details.
What Did the Police Do?
The police charged Alo with five crimes, including:
- Lying to deceive people
- Trying to sell a house that wasn’t hers
- Damaging someone else’s reputation
She was granted bail, and the court postponed her case until April 9, 2025.
What Happens Next?
For now, Alo is waiting for her next court hearing. Meanwhile, Sowore continues to push for Prophet Ebuka Obi’s arrest, saying that real justice has not been served.
