Despite changing voting pattern: BBNaija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ records over 1 billion votes

Despite the change in voting pattern, the just-concluded season six of Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ reported an incremental vote of over one billion from fans for the first time since the show returned to the screen.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the show host made this revelation on Sunday, during the grand finale of season 6 as Fans from the United Kingdom also made part of the teeming audience.

The Show, despite its criticism, was able to attain such success amid the various complaints that wandered the season as well as the change in voting systems.

Goldennationblog.com gathered that weeks before the season started, the show organizers declared openly stating that there would be no paid voting as was the standard in earlier seasons.

The organizers while rejecting paid voting, also encouraged their fans to support their favorites housemates by voting using their online platforms which more votes will be allotted to the subscribers of their cable TV decoders.

Meanwhile, the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ season rounded up with an interesting finale show on Sunday, October 3, with guest performances from Made Kuti, Ajebo Hustlers, Lojay, and BBNaija alumni Avala and Laycon.

Unlike previous seasons, the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ season placed six finalists and the much anticipated physical audience for the finale show.

According to statistics the season six winner, Whitemoney made a landslide victory with 47 % of fan votes. Another fan-favorite Liquorose came second place with 22.99% of fan votes while Pere and Cross came in third and fourth place respectively.

Whitemoney takes home N90 million worth of prizes comprising N30 million cash, a house, and a brand new car.
