It was a very sad and shocking morning in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, on Tuesday, April 30, 2025. A 29-year-old student named Peter Eyorowalebo, who was studying hard for his school exams, was shot and killed in his room by a man named Ike Peter, a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria.
Peter was a student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, and he was quietly preparing for his exam when the terrible event happened around 9:30 in the morning.
The police report said that someone called the police in a panic, and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) rushed to the scene quickly. When the police got there, they found Peter lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the hospital, but the doctors sadly said he had already passed away. His body has been taken to the mortuary, where doctors will perform an autopsy to find out exactly how he died.
The man who shot Peter, Ike Peter, was arrested right away and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more questioning. The Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, said the case will be handled seriously and promised that justice will be done.
This terrible news has made many students and people in the community very sad and angry. Peter was just trying to study and improve his life when his life was unfairly taken away.
The police are now investigating what happened, and many people are hoping that the person who did this will be punished properly.
Peter’s family, friends, and classmates are heartbroken. Everyone is praying for his soul to rest in peace and hoping that no student ever has to face such a painful and unfair tragedy again.
