Delta State Governor Focuses on Projects, Not Politics, Says Commissioner

The Delta State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has said that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is more focused on improving the state than arguing with critics or getting involved in political fights. He explained that the governor is working hard to complete big projects that will help the people of Delta State live better lives.

Speaking at a press conference in Asaba, Mr. Aniagwu who double as Commissioner for public information said the governor has no plans to leave his political party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and is committed to making sure everyone in the state benefits from his work.

Important Projects in Delta State

Governor Oborevwori is working on many projects across the state. Some of these projects include:

Roads: Fixing and building new roads like the Okpanam-Ibusa bypass, the Asaba/Ughelli dual carriageway, and roads in Warri, Sapele, and other areas.

Bridges: Building the Beneku Bridge and connecting more communities.

Flyovers: Adding three big flyover bridges in Warri and Effurun to reduce traffic and improve travel.

Helping Schools and Hospitals

The governor is also working to make schools and hospitals better:

He built a new campus for Southern Delta State University in Orerokpe.

He set up a College of Health Sciences at the university’s main campus in Ozoro.

Over 150 healthcare centers and many hospitals have been upgraded so people can get better medical care.

New Homes for Families

To help families, the governor started a project to build new houses in Ozoro, Kwale, and Owa-Oyibu. These include two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes.

Boosting Jobs and Business

Delta State is working with companies to use its natural gas to create more jobs and grow the economy.

Paying Debts and Supporting Workers

Governor Oborevwori’s administration has already paid over ₦200 billion of the state’s debts and is making sure contractors are paid on time for their work.

Governor’s Focus

Mr. Aniagwu said the governor is focused on his job and not distracted by politics. He added that the governor wants everyone in Delta State to enjoy the benefits of good leadership, like better roads, schools, hospitals, and homes.

“Governor Oborevwori believes this is the time to work, not play politics. He is doing everything to make Delta State a better place for all,” Aniagwu said.

The governor’s work is connecting communities, making life easier for people, and helping businesses grow. These projects show his dedication to building a brighter future for Delta State.
