The Director-General of the Delta State Orientation Bureau, Mr. Eugene Uzum, has commended the Leadership/Members of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps (AVC) for their teamwork in order to stop cultism.
The DG, who is also a lawyer, disclosed this during an interview session with the Anti-cult group where he explained that Cultism is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabrics of the society.
Uzum also stressed that the damage done by its members cannot be quantified in terms of the untimely death of Youths’ cut down from their prime, as a result of their unwholesome activities.
He noted that the activities of AVC would help to facilitate the peace and security agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, to build a stronger Delta.
He advised youths to be wary of friends who indulge themselves in drugs, smoking of India helm, rape, arm robbery, kidnapping, and other social vices that are dangerous to the growth of the society.
Responding, the leader of the group, Ambassador Austyne Emu, said that they were delighted to partner with the present government of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to eradicate the surge.
Emu said in order to contribute their own quota, they had to embark on a door-to-Door Campaigns to enlighten them about the evil of cultism, mounting of a bill board, the printing of stickers, and fliers, including “Anti-Cult Match” to mark the International Peace Day.
