Nigerian music sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again demonstrated his philanthropic side by pledging a whopping sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages across Nigeria.
The singer made this announcement in a post he shared on his social media handle on Tuesday. He also stated that he would provide details of the donation’s disbursement on Wednesday.
It’s worth noting that Davido, through his David Adeleke Foundation, has been making generous donations to orphanages annually for some time now. The singer wrote in his post, “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria… as my yearly contribution to the Nation. Details of disbursement tomorrow.”
This is not the first time Davido has shown support to orphanages in Nigeria. In 2021, on the occasion of his 29th birthday, Davido reportedly donated N250m to 292 orphanages across the country.
Similarly, in July 2023, the talented musician was also reported to have donated an unspecified amount to over 400 orphanages in Nigeria. Davido’s commitment to supporting orphanages in his home country is indeed commendable and serves as an inspiration to others to give back to society.
