President Muhammadu Buhari has celebrated with singer, Onyeka Onwenu, the renowned songstress who is also known as the Elegant Stallion as she clocks 70 years.
The President also showered praises on the “One Love” singer and also prayed that God would go on to bless her with long life and good health.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina on Monday.
In the statement titled ‘Buhari greets Onyeka Onwenu at 70’, the President heap praises her for living a life that inspired both the old and younger generation.
According to the statement “The President affirms that Onwenu’s creativity, sincerity of purpose and diligence continue to bring glory to the country, starting as an NTA presenter and reporter that caught the world’s attention by putting a spotlight on corruption in the ’80s and releasing songs with great social and moral impact.”
He applauded Onwenu, a former executive director/chief executive officer of the National Centre for Women Development and chairperson of Imo State Council for Arts and Culture, for fresh ideas and institutional reforms she brought into public service.
He also praised her for passionately developing and maintaining a vision for a reasonable life for many.
Buhari said Onwenu’s many recognitions and awards at home and abroad were well-deserved, adding that she directed her energy into global movies with historic contexts.
He also said Onwenu concentrated her energy into sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ which he prayed that God would go on to bless her with long life and good health.
