Breaking: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala appointed as new DG of WTO

The General Council of the World Trade Organizations has finally appointed a Nigerian candidate, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the new Director-General.

WTO members decided to appoint Ngozi Iweala after a special meeting by the General Council following the selection process that involves eight candidates from around the world.

Ngozi Iwela finally made history as the first woman and the first African to lead the WTO.

According to reports, her tenure starts on the 1st of March, 2021.
