Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has shared his list of the top five Afrobeats songs he believes are the best.
Speaking on the LagosMeetsLondon podcast, he said African Queen, the popular song by 2Baba, is the greatest love song ever made in Nigeria. He also included Ojuelegba by Wizkid, Ye by Burna Boy, IF by Davido, and Safe by MI Abaga on his list.
“African Queen is the greatest love song that Nigeria ever made. I believe there is no greater love song,” he said.
Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, became famous after releasing his album Sex Over Love in 2021. Since then, he has continued to release hit songs.
Even though he enjoys success, the rapper has spoken about the struggles of being famous. He said being in the public eye all the time makes life difficult.
In 2022, he directed the music video for his song Back In Uni, showing his creative side. He has also received many awards and was named one of the 50 innovators shaping the future of rap by Rolling Stone in 2023.
