Asake Confirms Exit from YBNL, Drops New Song ‘Why Love’

Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, has officially left YBNL Nation, the music label owned by rapper Olamide. But don’t worry—there’s no bad blood between them!

Some people had speculated that Asake and Olamide had a disagreement, but Asake cleared the air when he released his new song, Why Love’, under his own record label, Giran Republic. Earlier this year, he also showed appreciation for Olamide in his song ‘Military,’ proving that they are still on good terms.

How Asake Became a Star

Asake’s journey to fame started when he got signed to YBNL Nation in February 2022. Before then, he had been making music for years, but joining YBNL gave him the big break he needed.

That same year, his career skyrocketed! In July 2022, he signed a distribution deal with Empire, an international music company that helps artists sell their music worldwide. His hit songs like ‘Sungba,’ ‘Joha,’ and ‘Lonely at the Top’ made him one of Nigeria’s biggest Afrobeats stars.

What’s Next for Asake?

Even though Asake has left YBNL, he is still working with Empire to distribute his music. With Giran Republic, he now has the freedom to create his own sound and help other artists grow, just like Olamide helped him.

Fans are excited to see what Asake does next. Will he sign new artists? Will he release another hit album? One thing is certain—his journey is just beginning!
