The Asagba of Asaba, HRM Asagba Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, visited the Bonsaac Community for the first time and announced a big change—Bonsaac will now be called “Ajaji Layout, Asaba.”
During his visit on Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Asagba was warmly welcomed by the people of Bonsaac and Oduke communities, along with important leaders like Chief Patrick Ukah and other traditional chiefs.
Why the Change?
The Asagba explained that Bonsaac is an important part of Asaba, and the name change reflects its connection to the kingdom. He also ordered that signs with “THIS IS AJAJI LAYOUT” be placed at all entrances within a week.
What the Community Needs
The people of Bonsaac (now Ajaji Layout) and Oduke have many challenges. They don’t have good roads, government schools, hospitals, police stations, or even a market. The Asagba promised to help bring development to the area.
Plans for the Future
- Better Security – The Asagba will ask the police commissioner to set up a police post in the community.
- More Development – Some buildings might need to be removed to make space for roads and other projects.
- Stronger Leadership – He appointed Ogbueshi Adim Onochie and Ogbueshi Dada Okolo to represent him in the community and encouraged people to respect them.
The visit was a historic moment, and the community is hopeful that this change will bring progress and improvements to their daily lives.
