The Delta State Ministry of Science and Technology has opened applications for the M.O.R.E Information and Communications Technology Youth Empowerment Programme (MORE ICT-YEP). The program will be held at the Delta State Innovation Hub in Asaba and aims to equip young Deltans with specialized skills across three tracks: Start-up Academy, ICT for Self-Employment, and Digital Media Skills.
Program Tracks and Courses
A. Start-up Academy
This track offers courses in:
- Basic and Advanced Web Development (Front-End Development)
- Back-End Development (Python)
- UI/UX Design Essentials (Product Design)
- Mobile Development (iOS and Android)
Eligibility: Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc/B.Eng).
B. ICT for Self-Employment
This track provides training in:
- Home Security Design and Installation
- Advanced Solar and Inverter Installation
- Computer Repairs, Servicing, and Installation
Eligibility: Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
C. Digital Media Skills
This track covers:
- Social Media Management and Publicity
- Video Editing
- Motion Graphics
- Graphic Design for Media
Eligibility: Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
General Eligibility Requirements
To apply, candidates must:
Be between 20 and 40 years old.
Hold a Voter’s Card, National Identification Number (NIN), and a Certificate of Local Government Area of Origin.
Be a Delta State indigene, unemployed, or able to fully commit to the training (non-civil servant).
Not have previously benefited from Delta State’s Youth Empowerment Programs.
