The Federal Government has given the green light for the construction of an airstrip in Canaanland, the headquarters of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, commonly known as Winners Chapel, located in Ota, Ogun State. This development was announced by Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of the church, during a special service at Canaanland.

The new airstrip is set to enhance transportation for worshippers and visitors, particularly during large gatherings like Shiloh, the church’s annual convention, which attracts thousands of attendees from around the globe. With this addition, members who own aircraft will now have the convenience of landing and parking directly at Canaanland, reducing the challenges associated with travel to the area.

Canaanland already hosts several key facilities such as Covenant University, secondary schools, a bakery, and a water processing plant, all designed to cater to the needs of both the church community and the surrounding areas. The addition of an airstrip will further enhance accessibility to the sprawling campus, making it easier for both local and international visitors to attend church events.

Bishop Oyedepo highlighted that this project aligns with his vision of improving infrastructure for the congregation and the wider community. He also noted that the airstrip would be privately funded by the church, demonstrating its commitment to self-reliance and infrastructure development.

The construction of the airstrip is expected to boost the local economy by creating job opportunities during both the building and operational phases. While the exact timeline for the project has not been disclosed, the church leadership assured that it would be completed swiftly, meeting all necessary aviation standards. This move is part of the church’s ongoing efforts to enhance the worship experience and provide top-tier facilities for its members.

As the church continues to grow, this airstrip is seen as another milestone in Bishop Oyedepo’s vision for Canaanland, further solidifying its place as a hub of faith and development.
