A 29-year-old man who resides in West London, United Kingdom, identified as Muhammad Malik, has advertised himself on Billboard while searching for a wife.
It was gathered by TimeOut Magazine through an interview that Malik who was sick of dating, went from an unknown guy to a famous face overnight, and has gotten over 1000 applications from women inspiring to marry him in just a few days after advertising himself on Billboard.
The illustration on the Billboard carries the photo of Malik with the caption “Save me from an arranged marriage.”
The Billboard was erected in London, Birmingham, and Manchester and it also carries an address to a website he purposely created for the search.
According to him, he said he wants a woman to marry because he doesn’t want to accept an arranged marriage by his family.
Malik who is overwhelmed by the responses he received from potential suitors said, the idea of advertising himself was brought up by a friend who is a marketer.
As reported by TimeOut Magazine, Malik was quoted saying “There’s no timeframe. For me it was a bit of a tongue-in-cheek thing that ‘2022 is the year’, but it doesn’t have to be. I have a strong belief in predestination, that things are written and not to worry.
He said, “I think it’s really important to have that genuine connection with somebody because we’re looking to leave a legacy behind us.”
Also, when asked about how he expects his first date with the applicants to be, he said it would be done by the Islamic tradition.
Malik said “It might be a bit of a culture shock for people, but for me, that would be to meet in a setting where it isn’t just us, but there are also family members around.
“That’s the Islamic way to go about it – there’s always someone there as a chaperone. That would be perfect.”
