2Shotz Breaks Silence on Allegation That Ended His Career

Nigerian rapper William Orioha, popularly known as 2Shotz, has opened up on how an assault allegation linked to actress Beverly Osu ruined his marriage, career, and mental health.

Speaking on the Teju Babyface Show, the 46-year-old rapper said the allegation, which began during Osu’s appearance on Big Brother Africa in 2013, marked the beginning of his downfall.

During the show, Osu claimed she had been in an abusive relationship with a rapper and showed a scar as proof. Although she did not mention any names, public speculation connected the story to 2Shotz because of their rumored past relationship.

The rapper explained that his relationship with Osu began professionally when she featured as a vixen in one of his music videos but later turned intimate. According to him, the relationship soured after he tried to end things when Osu wanted a more serious commitment.

He said matters worsened after Osu’s mother confronted him, leading to a heated argument between him and Osu.

“At that point, I shoved her face with my hand, and she called it assault. Nobody wanted to hear my story, and it cost me my marriage. I started losing everything — even my daughter. I’ve only seen her once since then. The situation gave my then-wife something to hold against me,” he said.

2Shotz revealed that the fallout from the allegation led to constant online abuse, cost him music shows and business deals, and eventually plunged him into depression. He said he became suicidal as a result.

“Everything crashed. I was labelled, and I lost everything. I wasn’t getting shows or deals; my businesses folded. I became so depressed and almost committed suicide. I probably would have died if I weren’t saved,” he added.

He further claimed that the allegation was not accidental but orchestrated by people who wanted to destroy his career. According to him, Osu once allegedly said she needed to “bring down a celebrity to blow,” and he became the target.

2Shotz, who gained fame after releasing his debut album Pirated Copy in 2004, has since left the Nigerian music scene. He now works as a photographer and cinematographer in the United States.
