Your opinions are wrong, it is against genuine agitations – Ogun Speaker tells Lawan

The Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, has faulted the Nigeria Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, over his opinions after condemning the decision of the Southern Governors who call for restructuring during the meeting of the Southern Governors Forum that was held in Asaba, Delta State capital.

Oluomo condemn the Senate President opinion during an interview with journalists after the successful celebration of Eid el Fitr on Friday, May 14, made this inclination.

According to the Oluomo, the Senate President is wrong and premeditated while doubted the action of Lawan stating that it is against the genuine agitations of the people towards the ongoing constitution amendment.

Oluomo said Lawan is not sincere about amending the constitution to suit the exigency of this time, stating that he did not expect him to fire back at the governors for airing the opinion of the people.

He explained that almost everybody in the country has been agitating for restructuring since they don’t know how they came together in 1914.

He also asked if there is anything wrong if everybody sat together and rearranging the union adding that, “When has it become a crime in the Constitution of Nigeria to say the mind of those who elected you?”

In a similar development, the Yoruba sociopolitical group known as Afenifere has also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure he restructures the country before the next election.

The group leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo stated this during the meeting of the group that was held at his residence in Ogbo, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun state on Friday, a meeting that attracted delegates from across the country.

Adebanjo explained that there must be a country first before holding, elections while also, calling for the resignation of the President stating that Buhari doesn’t have a clue about the problems of Nigeria.

Adebanjo further explained that if the President failed to quit, the situation of the country would stumble into a crisis which nobody can foretell it’s ending.

However, during the meeting, Adebanjo was also revealed as the new leader of the Yoruba apex group after a caucus meeting.
