Some group of women has taken it upon themselves to protest in the street over abnormalities in the election results in Kogi Central Senatorial District, describing it as an “injustice”.
The women were seen wearing white ritual clothes demonstrating and calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to do justice to their votes and declared Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan as Senator-elect.
According to Tribune Online, the white ritual is done at sacred times to invoke the traditional spirit of war against those who deceive or cause pain to the land.
It was gathered that Natasha had earlier rejected the announcement of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere as the winner of the February 25 election for Kogi Central Senatorial District following the irregularities that ravaged the process.
The INEC Returning Officer for Kogi Central Senatorial District announced the results in Okene on Tuesday that Sadiku-Ohere win Mrs. Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party to emerge winner of Saturday’s election.
