Why Okowa ends 1999 politics in Delta

The Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has decided to hold the bull by the horn to end the 1999 politics and restrategize to build up his legacies with his trusted associates before his tenure runs out.

It was gathered from an Investigative Journalist, Miracle Chinedu Enuji, who alleged with facts that some political appointees have hijacked the government with the notion that the governor cannot be everywhere. A fact he said can attest to itself.

Enuji, in what he described as Okowa Cabinet Purge, explained that every dynasty has its ends and the phase of 1999 politics gradually comes to an end in Delta State noting the immediate past appointees were not sincere to the governor, and in most cases, they never used their offices to reach out to Deltans in their regions.

Enuji revealed that most of the immediate appointees use their assignment to deceive their boss like Oga all is well, you’re doing well, no shaking, no more poverty, no dissenting voices, bla bla bla.

Also, Enuji revealed that if facts are to be told, a third of Deltans don’t truly like Governor Okowa’s administration primarily because of the conceived nepotism that was exhibited and repeated by the same persons he graciously authorized from the Central, South, and even from his North senatorial district in the state.

According to an article that was published in 2017 by Asaba Metro, revealed that Governor Okowa was once urged to use his first eleven before the 2019 general elections. A story that has resonated in the midterm of his second tenure.

Meanwhile, Enuji had recommended to Governor Okowa not to utilize pressure to kill the fly perching on his scrotum stating that he can run the government with just a few devoted hands.

He maintains that the multitude of Commissioners and political appointees cannot translate to be the best administrators.

He further encouraged and advised Governor Okowa as he ends the 1999 politicians dynasty to choose his own first eleven that will encourage him to finish strong and ignore the politics of concession, adding that there is no antidote for old age.

Recall, on Tuesday, May 18, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State terminated the State Executive Council while authorized all commissioners in the administration to hand over to their various permanent secretaries with immediate effect.

The termination also affected the SSG, Chief Of Staff, Special Advisers, and all Political Advisers in the State.
