Abdurrahman Sumaila, a former Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, has stated that no right-thinking Nigerians will support a presidential candidate from the South East in 2023.
This was disclosed to newsmen in a statement on Thursday in Kano.
According to the statement, Sumaila alleged that nobody will ever want to risk their lives for the southeast presidency noting that it has become clear that the motive behind the incessant attacks is to turn the country into anarchy.
In the statement, Sumaila maintains that the perpetrators of the attacks must understand that if the country is turned chaotic, nobody including the perpetrators won’t escape.
The ex-presidential aide further urged the elders in the Southeast to publicly condemn the incessant attacks by suspected members of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, or be regarded as an accomplice in the act.
He also advised the elite in the Southeast to consider borrowing a leaf from the Arewa Consultative Forum and the Northern Elders Forum for been persistent in condemning the activities of Boko Haram and bandits in the North.
