WhatsApp is currently releasing advanced settings to manage your privacy settings. The company is testing the feature on Android and iOS versions.
The new option allows users to limit specific individuals from seeing their “Last Seen” status.
Some weeks ago, WhatsApp has released the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.9 update, which brings advanced settings to manage last seen, about, profile photos to more Android beta testers. Today, WhatsApp is rolling out the same feature to some beta users that install the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.9.0.70, according to TestFlight!
If you open WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen / Profile Photo / About, you might find a new option called “My Contacts Except…”: this option lets you exclude some people from seeing your information on WhatsApp.
For example, you do not need to set your last seen to “Nobody” if you have disabled it due to certain contacts: you can exclude them from seeing your last seen now.
WhatsApp is also implementing more granular privacy controls for both profile photos and about sections. With the feature now in beta testing on both Android and iOS, it likely won’t be long until it’s officially available on WhatsApp.
