The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has called for mutual trust and unity between Warri Urhobos and their Itsekiri counterparts.
He made these address during his visit to the Warri Urhobo Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Chief Emmanuel Okumagba (JP) on his second tenure in Warri.
The council boss noted that he was able to erase mutual distrust between the Warri Urhobos and the Itsekiris in his first tenure, stressing that genuine peace and unity is needed for meaningful development of the area.
Other laudable achievements he mentioned include the establishment of cooperative societies in Agbarha Warri oil-producing communities of Oteghele and Ukpokiti, organizing of two economic summits, sinking of twenty – one borehole across the local government area and empowerment of youths, amongst others.
While thanking Chief Okumagba for his support during his first tenure, Dr. Tidi solicited the continuous support of Warri Urhobos to enable him fully actualize his mission and vision for the good people of Warri South Local Government Area.
Responding, Chief Okumagba acknowledged that Dr. Tidi was truly related to the three kingdoms comprising the local government area and that his performance was good in the first tenure, urging him to perform better if voted for a tenure.
He noted that as a leader, he had a duty to pray for all aspirants.
In a related development, Dr. Tidi also paid a consultation visit to PDP Agbarha Warri leader, Dr. Israel Abido (JP) where he equally made a similar presentation.
The council boss was accompanied by his vice, Chief (Mrs) Ann Iniovosa, and members of PDP, Warri South Local Government Area.
