Ukodo Festival Lights Up Asaba with Harrysong, Rude Boy, and More!

— Delta State Government Says Festival Mirrors the MORE Agenda of Growth, Joy, and Youth Empowerment

Asaba, Delta State — It was a magical night full of music, culture, and fun as Asaba hosted the very first Ukodo Festival 2025. The event, led by famous musician Harrysong — popularly known for his hit song “Better Pikin” — brought together thousands of people, including big stars like Rude Boy of PSquare, OAP Dotun, and many other talented artists.

Held at the beautiful Dome Event Centre, the festival was not just about entertainment. It was a celebration of Delta’s rich culture, creative talent, and the spirit of unity — values deeply rooted in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.

The Governor, represented by the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, praised young Deltans who showcased their music, dance, and comedy skills at the event.

“We are proud of the many gifted sons and daughters of Delta,” he said. “They show that our state is not just about oil — we are also rich in talent. From music to acting and comedy, Delta leads the way.”

Ukodo Festival and the MORE Agenda

The Governor said that the Ukodo Festival reflects everything the MORE Agenda stands for — Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security. He explained that the happiness and unity seen at the festival were signs of good things happening across Delta.

“This festival is about joy,” said Aniagwu. “It shows how culture, talent, and infrastructure are bringing people together. From building roads and bridges to supporting education and entertainment, Delta is making progress.”

He added that the state would continue to support young talents by creating more platforms like the Ukodo Festival, so they can shine both in Nigeria and around the world.

“Whether in Nollywood, music, dance, or comedy — Delta is a home of stars,” he said. “And we will keep helping them grow.”

A Night of Stars and Culture

The event was filled with exciting performances that lasted into the early morning hours. Fans danced and cheered as Rude Boy, Papi Urhobo, Sola X, Dollar Girl, TS, Mersharck, and other stars gave stunning shows. Upcoming acts also had their chance to perform, showing the crowd that the future of Delta Entertainment is bright.

Cultural groups from all parts of Delta performed traditional dances, wearing colourful clothes and playing native drums. There was also plenty of laughter, thanks to top comedians who had the audience smiling all night.

The Dome Event Centre was beautifully decorated with lights, making the night even more unforgettable.

Harrysong: “Ukodo Festival Is a Dream Come True”

Speaking with journalists, Harrysong, who also serves as an Executive Assistant to the Governor, said the festival was “a dream come true.” He described Ukodo as not just a popular Delta dish, but a symbol of joy, culture, and togetherness.

“This is more than just a music event. It’s a movement,” he said. “Ukodo Festival is Delta’s flavour to Nigeria, Africa, and the world.”

He thanked Governor Oborevwori for believing in the vision and supporting the creative industry through the MORE Agenda.

“We’re proud of the Governor. He’s giving young people a reason to believe, dream, and shine. This is just the beginning,” Harrysong added.

Looking Ahead

The Delta State Government said it plans to make Ukodo Festival a yearly celebration — and next time, it will involve all 25 local government areas. The goal is to unite the entire state through fun, culture, and opportunities for youth.

As the lights dimmed and the music ended, one thing was clear: Ukodo Festival 2025 wasn’t just a show. It was a message — that Delta is a place of talent, unity, and hope, where every young person can dream big and succeed.
