In Rivers State, two pastors, Prophet Bassey Umoren and Prophet Elijah Anietie, have been caught with unusual and scary items like small caskets, monkey skulls, carved skeletons, and photos of people, including children. These items were found in their churches located in the Rumunduru area of the state.
The pastors, aged 60 and 50, lead two churches: God’s Deliverance Apostolic Church and Power House of Glory International Gospel Church. People in the community became suspicious of their activities and reported them to the police.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, explained that the youths of the Rumunduru community, led by their youth leader Henry World, handed the pastors over to the police on January 20, 2025.
The police are now investigating to find out why the pastors had those items and if they harmed anyone. The community has been praised for being alert and helping keep their neighborhood safe.
For now, the case is ongoing, and the police are working hard to uncover the full story.
